Hello all! As promised I am overjoyed to announce our first MAJOR OVERHAUL UPDATE!!! *airhorns* 

This kind of update is only possible after an incredible amount of feedback from lets players and playtesters, so I want to thank them sincerely.

Updates:

  • Introducing a new and exciting challenge mode!! Is our demo too easy? Did you get a rare pull and want to show off on stream? Please talk to the mysterious 2nd announcer who has 6 additional challenges PER ROUND! As a game developer, I struggled to complete some of the stage 2 challenges, so I hope you tactics fans have a blast!
  • Updated language to better emphasize that the game is a one player, narrative driven game with dark lore.
  • Updated Damage formula to Math.max(1, Math.floor(0.5*(3*a.atk - 2*b.def))) to better account for damage variation
  • Removed a bug where damage could be slightly varied from the battle preview.
  • When attacking the attacker now ALWAYS hits first, even if slower
  • Stats have been reworked to allow for higher HP pools and more consistent damage between the rarities.
  • Battle Prep stage has been being slightly expanded to allow for more choice as to where to put your capmons. For challenge mode you can now also swap which CapMon in your battle set you want to use for 2 v 3 and 1 v 3 battles.
  • Improved Vampiric drain to always do a minimum of 4 damage and heal Vampy by 4.
  • Rally Troops now increases both physical and magic attack by 2
  • Kickstarter placeholders 1-5 now have a correct face graphic
  • Blind state now lowers physical attack accuracy to 0 AND removed the ability for magical attacks
  • Adjusted machine rarities slightly to eliminate possibility of a round 1 epic to improve balancing. Rates of epics are 10-12.5% round 2 onwards 
  • Dialogue updates to opening scenes
  • Vampy as an enemy will not only use skill when under 50%
  • Vampy's skill "Vampiric Drain" was made more powerful
  • Additional lore was hidden!

planned updates:

  • Infographic for challenge mode to ensure players understand the new "mon swapping" features
  • Update capmons to better fit art
  • redraw cursor, arrows, state icons (E for not active, X for stunned, A for automatic).
  • A battle log is needed to help keep track of battle
  • Poison needs to be reinstated, I will be working on this bug
  • Flameo speed shows as 1
  • blind and attack up not lasting long enough, make longer
  • Make it so CapMon menu shows what set/ability even if not unlocked so players know.
